MSF5000 Board

Post by wilcox »

I am trying to find out some information on some MSF5000 boards that a friend has. The number on the board is TLN3047. Can any one tell what CLB repeater that these boards came out of or any information on them at all. I have looked in all of the MSFbooks that I have and nothing there on them. The TLN numbers of the ones that we have are not the same. These mumber TLN2423A. ANy thing will help.

Thanks

Can you post a photo of it? I did find a TLN3045, Secure board for a digital station, but that was the closest number.

A few boards that I don't have, and don't have any documentation on, are:

Wild Card
DTMF decoder
SAM

It could be one of those which would fit either a digital or analog station.

See if it matches any of the boards in the photos in the MSF Photo Tour on http://www.repeater-builder.com, Motorola section, MSF area.

The TLN3047 Station Control Board is used in 900 MHz Trunked MSF5000 stations C65CLB / C85CLB.

It is similar to the TLN2423A UHF SCB but has additional circuitry for Hear Clear [Flutter-Fighter + compressor & expander]

It is documented in control section 68-81067E12 which is P/O the 68-81064E70 Station Instruction Manual.

MSF5000 Board

Post by wilcox »

Thanks XMO,

I want to thank you for reading and letting us know. I don't have a MSF5000 900MHZ book that is why I could not find it.
Do you know if the boards can be use in any of the MSF5000 UHF repeater?

Thanks

Does anyone have any documentation on a TLN3221B Station access module. I know it can do lots of things. Is there any documention about all the wonderful things it can do?

The TLN3221B SAM instruction section is 68-81087E72. It does not appear as an available item on MOL, however, this section is included in the MSF5000 Data Station Smart Wildcard option manual 68-81087E60. This manual is available through MOL.

There is also considerable information about the SAM capabilities in the MSF RSS manual, 68-81125E68.

I have never tried to substitute a TLN3047 in place of a TLN2423, but they appear similar enough for this to be possible.

Your best bet would be a careful comparison of the documentation of both boards.

There are jumpers on the TLN3047 that allow you to bypass the expander, compressor, and flutter-fighter [JU-16, JU-17, and JU-18 respectively]

Thanks to everyone for your attempts to help me with this problem. I hope to get it figured out and when I do I will be glad to share it here.

I have created a ZIP file with some pictures of the two boards. I do not know how to attach them to this. Please advise.

Thanks,
Wes

MOL shows the 68-81064E70 900 MHz MSF service manual as being available for $50.00, give them a call or have your local MSS order one for you.
