Depends on how technical you want to get.

A 900MHz radio is generally referred to as operating on the 900MHz split of the radio frequency band. UHF is (at least according to Motorola!) from 380-520MHz.

However, UHF at its most basic level refers to any frequency from 300-3000MHz. Technically speaking, all cellphones, most home portable phones, and other stuff operate on "UHF frequencies." 8)

What model MTX? i.e. 838, 800, 900, and What is the model #?
