You can get a fair idea as to the model by the band, secure or non secure as well.
Secure, UHF: H44QXK7139CN (usually)
Secure, UHF: H44QXJ7139AN (no scan)(unlikely)
Non secure: H44SAK7139CN(scan)
Non secure, UHF: H44SAJ7139CN(scan)
Secure, VHF: H43QXK7139CN(scan)
Secure, VHF: H43QXJ7139CN(scan)
Non secure, VHF: H43SAJ7139CN(scan)
Non secure, VHF: H43SAK7139CN(scan) (AN- means no scan capabilities in all models)
Those are the most commonly found models on the used market, but there are more available, and pertain to the same radio family but with differing features, options and capabilities, as well as channel capacity, display, keypad...Etc....

The sixth character of the model # tells you if it's a model II or model III. the J designates a model II, the K (for full keypad) designates a model III. If you have a H44SAJ7139CN and it has a full keypad, somebody has modified it. Out of the factory, an SAJ only had the three button keypads.AEC wrote:You can get a fair idea as to the model by the band, secure or non secure as well.
