Motorola Rick Interfacing

Post by JD »

Does any one know if a rick can be placed 12 to 15 feet away form one of the radios used in a repeater set up? Would there be RF issues?

Also, what do you use for local remote wiring. Motorola has discontinued the multi conductor( Mic Hi cable sheilded) wire. I need to a run of 200 ft.

Thanks.

1. You can have R*I*C*K 6-inches away from radios with no effect.

2. I use CAT5 and make my own connectors.

3. Since the connections from a R*I*C*K to the radios is basically E&M signalling, there may be distance limitations. I believe we've gone as far as 40-50 feet without issue, but I can't certify that it will work at 200 feet.
