Hi, I don’t' know if someone had notice this problem with the cp200 radios.
I see in many radios that they make a beep every time you move the battery on the radio. Radio loose contact with the battery and when it makes contact again it makes the self test beep over and over again when battery moves.
It's is not only in one radio, I got about 8 to 10 radios with same problem. I tried new original batteries on radios with the problem also tried the aftermarket ones, but seems to be a common problem with those CP200 radios. Anyone here have any information about a recall or report of that problem?
PS: If I wrap the radio with tape the problem disappears.

I did not get it. You are saying radio has a firmware problem? Does these radios have a recall regarding this problem or not? Can it be a metal chassis problem?MotoMax300 wrote:they reseal the radio..... not recalled though common..
fold a business card in half and place it below the contcts between radio and battery. it will solve it untill you want to send it in for a new gasket / firmware change.

The problem, from what I've heard, is that there is too much "play" between the battery and radio. This causes the battery to loose contact with the radio at times. If you use the folded business card idea, it acts as a damper for vibration, just the way the gasket should. I've had a similar problem with a Jedi radio before, and the business card (in my case, I used half of a cut credit card) idea worked great.
