HT1000 Accessory Port Question

Post by PhillyPhoto »

On the right side where you'd plug in a speaker mic, there's the little button that plunges down. Can someone shed some light on the purpose of it for me?

I've never seen a pin on a speaker mic or programming cable that would go with it.

It's used with the Public Safety speaker-mic. On some radios, there is an RF switch behind that plunger that, when depressed, disconnects the radio's antenna and instead uses the two pins on the univsersal connector. The PSM has a metal finger that depresses this plunger. The MTVA also makes use of it for the same purpose.

Antenna switch for a public safety mic, or vehicle adaptor.

With a few exeptions, Jedi's have an antenna connector inside the radio, that when a proper accessory is attached, it will disconnect the radio's antenna and switch it to an external one.
