What radios do you own?: Way too many...

Motorola System Saber

First off, if this is in the wrong forum, I appologise. Second, yes, I don't know much about this radio.

Okay, I have poked around the Model Specific Information thread and was not of much help to me.
http://www.batlabs.com/syssaber.html

I am wondering if someone could provide me with detailed info on the different types of system sabers there are out there, (types I II III) and so on, channel capacities, modding a type I to a type II or III (if possible) Or, ideally, can this radio be modded into a Astro Saber (or am I just dreaming now?)

Basically I recently purchased a Saber and System Saber, and I am wondering what I can do with the System Saber, that is not mentioned at the above link.

Thanks in advance. :D

I don't mean to be rude or unpolite, but I guess you really should read and learn more from Batlabs. It's all there.

Then again there's this board, where you can find answers to all your questions just by searching them with some search words, like "Saber", "Systems Saber" etc.

To answer shortly to your questions I'll say this for my 2 cents: Modifying SS I to II or III could be tricky, atleast you'll need new display board with needed features. Also new case is needed as well.

Well, on this one I'm sorry to say: Keep on dreaming, mate.

You are definitely dreaming about the Systems Saber to Astro Saber conversion - two totally different radios.

You can change a Systems Saber from a model 1 to a model 3. You need a model 3 shield and a case. Then you just create a new codeplug and download it to the radio.

Changing band splits requires swapping of modules.

Well I do like to dream...

And I am sorry for the "lack" of searching on my end- my work computer has some pretty strange internet filters, and likes to block out alot of words. When i searched at work last night, before I posted this, it didn't really show any results. When I got home and searched again, I found lots of results. (A bit off topic still, I talked to my IT dept, and had the filters turned off my computer.)
