So what specialized parts does a Saber R need?

Post by borisf »

Hi there.

I'm just wondering what parts of a Saber R have to be specialized ones and which can be replaced by standard items.

Special R-parts: case , battery

Is the antenna a standard one? Can normal speaker mics be used? Is the connection intrinsically safe then? Are all the guts (i.e. RF-board, crypto…) standard items?

Thank you guys.

You can replace most R parts with standard parts. Antenna, Speaker mikes,

However if you want it to remain IS you must use approved accessories.
But then unless it is serviced yearly by an IS approved service centre, the IS is not worth anything.
