ID alias list
In a trunked MTS2000, is the alias list where you can program in a more user friendly name to go with the id an add on? I have seen a few radios now that have it in the codeplug, and a few that don't. Just wondering is that a flash upgrade or is there a way to add it? Thanks
The alias list can be set up to show either the radio user ID or text associated with that radio, but from what I have here, all my Jedis have this 'option'
MTS2000
MT2000
MTX9000
You need MDC enabled in order to display the text or ID, both radios require it for it to be bi-directional.
If your options show MDC in the signalling list, then you should be able to utilize the option, same goes for GE STAR, QC-II and Two Tone and so on.

I am able to see the radio id when someone else is transmitting. But I can't find where to setup the list in the codeplug to create a text id to go along with that radio id number. If I remember right looking at another radio in the past there was a list somewhere to add this. Not sure if its not here or if its just me over looking it. This is a trunked radio and trunked id's that I am looking at here. Does that still have anything to do with the MDC if its trunked? As always, thanks guys!
Unless you are authorized to access the trunked system, simply having the ability to read alias/ID info will not do much good for you.
The reason for this menu is not only for the MDC/StatAlert, but also for use on a trunked network to send spcific text/IDs over the network, and the list is probably available only in a trunking screen as I think is the case.
Conventional options don't give much leeway for menus, or changing menus as there is no need, but another way to look at it, is to shorten the length of time to send/receive messages via a conventional network, the more time spent sending or receiving means nobody else gains access to that system, unlike a trunking system where many can use it simultaneously, so the need to have shorter messages is not quite as crucial here.
