GM 300 CHANNEL STEERING

Post by JD »

I have a telephone interconnect connected to a GM300 vhf. What I would like to do is that when the Zetron answers ,a relay can be programmed on the Zetron to go high or low.
When this happens ,I need the radio to go to channel 3 for paging. Can this be done through the accessory pin connector ?

Thanks.

Someone will correct me if I am not totally correct here.

You need the 16 channel GM300.
Channel steering is BCD so you will need to pull 2 lines low to go to channel 3.
You need to have the radio on channel 1 before activating the channel steering lines.

It is a 16 channel radio. Do you programm the appropriate pins on the accessory connector, I thinkk they are called Channel steering 1,2 ,3 ,4 ?

Yep those are the ones. And if you only need to steer it to channel three, you only need the first two channel steering inputs set up in the software...you can use the other pins for other functions if you're not going to use them. Use the relay to pull both pins high or low (depending on how you program it), and it should switch to CH3.
