MOTOROLA GM300 /ZETRON 32 JR TERMINMAL

Post by JD »

I am trying to interface a Zetron DAPT32 to a GM300 through the rear connector of the GM.
I am able to get the Zetron to work but the front mic PTT on the GM will not.

If I configure the set up so the front mic will work, PTT, then the interconnect will not key up the radio.

Ant ideas??

Does the GM300 key from the front with a regular mic when the Model 32 is completely disconnected from the radio? If not, you have an issue somewhere in the control head (well, 99% of the time anyway).

If it keys normally from the front with the Model 32 disconnected, you should hook the unit back up, and disconnect a single wire at a time until you find the culprit. I'd start with the PTT line.

ZETRON

Post by JD »

I added a 2.2k ohm resistor in the mic hi line, fixed the problem.

Zetron has a service bulliten out that says to use a 10k pot for the GM300 series. I could not get it to work, I had the wiper arm to the radio and the audio from the 32 JR going to one leg of the pot, the other leg of the pot to ground.

I just tried 4 or 5 values til I found one that would not attenuate the audio and I could get 3 to 4.5 khz dev.

Thanks for the help everyone.
