Pyramid SVR200V Test set

Post by richb »

Hi
I hope this is the right forum for this post. if not please post in right forum.
Im just want to know if there is a test set for a Pyramid SVR-200 repeater to simulate the mobile portion of the system? This is used to troubleshoot the system without using the mobile.
Thanks
Richb.
You email me if there is any such thing and where to obtain and any info will be greatly apperacited.

I am unaware of any sort of test set for those radios, and have never seen it mentioned in any of their service literature.

Even if it did exist, I am not entirely certain what purpose it would serve. It is simple enough to simulate COR, PTT and inject or recover audio off of the 9 pin D-Sub interface.

However, properly setting the SVR200s up depends largely on the levels to and from the attached mobile radio. The only truly effective way to configure and tune a system is with the mobile and the SVR200 actually interfaced and connected to two service monitors. I have managed to fake it with one service monitors and a couple of radios, but it is neither effective nor efficient compared to the recommended procedure.

Ok, thanks
I didnt think one of those existed. Thats the way I set them up. Just as it operates in the system. The only thing I do is disable the priorty sampling so the unit continously operates without being interupted during setup then once done I restore the priority sampling setting thru the programing
thanks for verifying that for me.

Very interesting. Thanks for the pictures.

I'm glad I only said I was unaware, and not that it never existed. :D

Do you happen to know if it is a standard production device, or an SP project for a particular customer? I have been working with the SVRs for some time now and have never seen any reference to a test set.

i dont think it is an SP product but i know this delear has been with Pyramid from the beginning. i used it to set up a few of them. usually you tune the pyramid and set the levels with it then set it up with the radio and test ut all again.

I've got one here at the shop but I can't find it right now. We just moved into a new building. I'll look for it and let you know.

In the meantime, an obvious question: Did anyone ask Pyramid?
