Ive looked everywhere and I am going crazy.
Can anyone tell me if the HT1250 and/or HT1550XLS is type approved to transmit on MURS Frequencies?? As long as it is only used with TX with 2 watts of power it is legal correct?
If you could also show me where you got your information it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

MURS
Thats correct it would be illegal. Now the question is who is enforcing it? Go to any HAMFEST, how many have radios programmed with FRS Freqs....More than one. How many GMRS/FRS Combo radios get sold where the end user uses GMRS Freqs even though they are not licensed for them. There are hundreds of thousands of violations occuring each and every day. Very few of these violations ever face any sort of enforcement action. Just look at the FCC website....sourapple613 wrote:so technically even if i only used it at 2 watts it would be illegal??

Use your own judgement. Hey at least you are using a good type accepted radio and not a piece of junk from China or Korea.
