Aftermarket Speaker Mics for HT-1250

Post by Wile E. Coyote »

I know that some of you are working for people (or cities) with shallow pockets, and are consequently using aftermarket parts for your radios. With that in mind, I thought I would get some feedback on an issue we are having.

Our fire department recently purchased some Stone Mountain speaker mics to replace the Motorola ones that often cause false PTT problems. We ended up purchasing the JUNO -http://www.stonemountainltd.com/pages/juno.html. Anyway, what we have found is that when we press the PTT, the tactile response does not necessarily mean that you are transmitting, and we need to press much harder after the feedback is felt before we truly are transmitting.

This is proving to be a problem with our guys, and I am curious if anyone else has seen a similar problem with this line. (or any other product for that matter).

Thanks for the feedback, and apologies if this is the wrong foum for this topic.

Happy holidays,

If you are looking for a nice PTT on the HT1250 SPeaker Mic, check out Motorola PMMN4002 Remote Speaker Mic, you can find them on ebay for around $45.00 and they are OEM with a super big and easy to use PTT. I'm not a fan of most aftermarket accessories, although Stone Mountain has a good customer base.

Mckay equipment is good but sadly every adaptor for our kenwoods that we have purchased/been replaced by them has never worked on our TK3140s but it does on our tk380s. Go figure same connector.

Good company though.
AES AND DES ARE NOT CCI's - YOU CAN EXPORT THEM IF YOU WANT - Wassenaar Arrangement
