Replacing Knobs & concentric rings on MT2000's

Post by mmb »

I recently ordered new knobs & the channel selector rings for my MT2000's my question is do they just pull off or what? I see no "set screws" or anything to secure them? Also, how difficult is it to replace the top LCD display?
Thanks![/b]

MT2000 Display

Ok, thanks, as for the display, how easy is it to just "re-case" the radio? I see cases with the display & speaker, etc on Ebay--

Quite easy, when all parts and stickers are available...you just need some skill and a flat blade screwdriver...

The price for a fully outfitted top display front housing from Motorola isn't all that much more than the cost of just the display itself. Definitely worth it to order the complete assembly, especially for the novice repair person.
