DTMF mode on a a7 and a9

DTMF mode on a a7 and a9

I'm looking in my service Manual to turn on my DTMF mode. i can use the pad on the radio can't I ??? please advise thanks "KC0ZCM"

Yes, but you need to enable it in the programming, I think on each mode you want it to be active. You also need to program a button to activate it on the control head. When done, you can press that button and choose a pre-programmed phone number to dial, or press the MODE button to scroll to a setting that lets you enter stuff directly from the keypad. When you're in that mode, you can either push digits directly (which will key the radio) or key the mike and push digits. I believe the HOME button gets you out of DTMF mode.

Load a codeplug. At the main menu, F4, F5. Look for "Phone Encode" and enable it on each mode. F10, F6, F2. Configure a button for PHON.
