Reference crystal GM300

Post by derfmier »

Can anyone tell me how to get around having to type the number (on the crystal) into the software to get the radio to use the 14.4 mhz crystal for the reference oscillatator.

The 14.4 mHz crystal IS the reference oscillatator!!!

Did you change the crystal? If not that step in the RSS is NOT required.

If you used a replacement from a junker/parts unit, the numerical data ought to still be on the crystal. Type it in. If not, good luck.

GM300 Crystal numbers

Post by Plurb »

Sorry you found out the RSS is not too forgiving. Just use the old number from the original crystal the more important number is the tuning number, which I have had to fake on more than one occasion, usually due to solder remover and spills into the units. Sample number is 6742-8713. Good luck.
