Hi guys. I'm going to be doing some traveling in early 2007 for work. The Fire Department where I'm staying is using a Type I Hybrid system. This is the system I want to set up: http://www.radioreference.com/modules.p ... R&sid=2360.
Obviously I want it for RX only. Before I get the "buy a scanner" thing, keep in mind that my radio is not capable of transmitting (the PA has been removed and TX values set so that a service monitor 1 foot away cannot detect anything). Any idea how I would go about doing so in an MTX8000? It's capable of Type I, there was a Type I system in it when I bought it.
Thanks guys!
Programming a Type I system?

If you want to use a Motorola radio as a scanner you haft to send it to a Motorola dealer to program it. Or if you have the software you can program it yuor self. If you don't know how to program Motorola radios and you have the software at your house don't do it you may kill your radio. Just jot down a list of frequencys you want in the radio and the frequency range. Make shore your frequencys are in the middle of your frequency range. If they are lower or higher then your frequency range supports they wont work. And if you have any specail instructions just write them down to like. If you have buttons on the radio you want them programmed for something something like that. OK
