Chances are you have the radio set to have a siren and do not have a Systems 9000 siren box or do not have it hooked up properly. I would venture to guess you just don't have one and have not disabled the option in programing.

That makes sense.
I got a bunch of these radios from the local sheriffs office when they switched to 800 Astro digital. I was powering them up to see of they work or throw codes. I did not, however, have them connected to the siren assembly at the time of test- mainly because i dont plan on using the sirens.
