Motorola Pro-2150 Not accepting Narrow Band, any help?

Post by W3MOT »

Hello, I'm having problems programming any frequencies that end in .0025 or .0075. Can anyone tell me how I can fix this problem? When I go to program in such frequencies, it rounds the freq off. I have the keypad programmable model. Thanks.

Looks like an invalid programming frequency. In UHF, for example, 12.5 kc splits should end like this:

where 12.5 = .0xxx
.0125
.0375
.0625
.0875

if it's rounding it up it won't do narrow band. it must be a vhf radio correct? the only way to fix it is upgrade the firmware or upgrade to a newer radio, the only problem is with that radio is it's not supposed to be in this country so i doubt if you'll get a motorola shop here to even work on it.

Negative. It's a UHF radio.

Ok i've found out the problem... but can't find a solution.

The problem is the radio is not accepting Narrow band frequencies. Only wide band. However I cannot find the solution to this problem. I'll keep looking. I even restored the radio to factory settings and it continues to do it. It's a latin american radio. Would that make a difference? Thanks.

you're gonna have to find a shop in south america, that radio isn't supposed to be here in the states and that's why we can't find any support for it. anything that i found on the internet for it was in spanish and i couldn't read it. and if what i did find was right that radio is like a gp68, it don't use any rss or cps for programming, it's front panel only.

I have a manual for it. It says it can be programmed using RSS. There's also a limited Keypad Model that Motorola makes that supports RSS as well...

Couldn't find anything in the manual about why it won't accept Narrow band, however.
