Error Code: 2136 in R5.03.00

Post by Leadenwah »

I'm at CHG/VIEW:TRNK:SYS "Trunking System Configuration" using R5.03.00 reading a Spectra T35ZXA5JC9 radio when I get the following message:

?Error: REAL Indefinite (uninitialized or previous error), Error Code 2136......701171.

This message just comes out of nowhere and smears over the existing screen, covering and merging with the existing copy on the screen. Then the computer freezes up, none of the F-keys work.

I've had no previous trouble with this RSS or this radio or the computer, a very slow 486 laptop with DOS 6.x and no windows on the system. I've been very careful, followed the RSS book, have known good RIB, cables, etc. I relatively new at this and NOT she sharpest knife in the draw on programming by a long shot.

Does this sound like I've made a bad entry in programming or a corrupted file? Any suggestions or comments glady received.

Many thanks,
Geo.

You have a corrupted version of the RSS. When the program appears to write over the RSS screen, what has actually happened is that it has dumped control back to DOS. If you look closely, I think you'll see the DOS cursor, and if you type "cls<enter>", you should clear the screen.
