Software That Will Run In Windows No Need For DOS

Post by jc29ems »

Does anyone have a list of what software for what radios will run in Windows and won't require DOS?

Thanks,

Well, generally, RSS needs "pure" DOS to run (although you may be able to run it under a DOS window or DOS emulator under Windows, just for viewing and editing codeplugs), and CPS runs under Windows.

Did you have a question about a specific software package?

I think he's looking for a list of actual radio models which use DOS RSS vs which use Windows CPS. If you look in the sticky thread at the top of this forum, you'll find a list of pretty much every DOS based programmable radio:

All other models use Windows CPS. There's a couple in the DOS list, such as MTS/MCS2000 and XTS3000/Astro Saber/Astro Spectra which also have Windows CPS versions.
