Spectra errors/dual head

Post by cduda »

I am really stumped---I have a High power spectra radio with dual heads. I read the radio, saved it, changed and renamed channels and enabled MDC and set ID, saved the new settings over original and then re-wrote the radio. After writing the radio, I wrote the remote head.
HERE IS WHERE THE PROBLEM IS: When the radio re-boots and goes through self check, it says 'Error 05/10' and both heads say 'PUMP PAN' which is the name of the remote head. I have to push (on the keypad) 8 that says 'F/R' to display the channel information. On the head in the cab, the channel names and freq. are correct, the remote head at the pump panel, still has the old names and channel numbers, but if you transmit on the desired channel, it works. So...the remote head wont re-program. I have checked every little help file possible and can not find the solution. I would appreciate any help. Thank you

Just to confirm when you programmed the rear head, you removed the front head and put the rear head in place of the front and programmed it that way.

OK, what you need to do is plug the rear control head into the front head cable. So remove the rear head from the pump panel, then disconnect the front head from the control cable, and then hook up the rear head to the front cable and program the rear head. It is easy, and I hope I did not make it sound to confusing. Feel free to ask any more questions. I was a Volunteer firefighter for 21 years, so I am glad to help.

Thanks,

Jim
