You can't just plug in a DTMF mic and get phone service.

But most radius mobiles will accept the proper touch-tone mic and be able to send DTMF tones with no modifications.

Is that what you were asking?

Yep,that's what i wanted to know.....I know of a few guys that have the telephone mic on their radios...they say the reception and service is great if you are in a bind.......
I was looking at a GM300 on ebay, the seller told me ya just plug in the telephone mic and away ya go....I thought that it had to be set up or programmed for it.....

Well it has to be programmed to work on the system you are on, but that has nothing to do with the dtmf mic.
