Line level audio

Post by jban »

Can someone tell me or illistrate where I can tap a line level audio out of the Minitor 4 and Minitor 5 Amplifier chargers. I want to hook one up to the station paging system.

I don't have Min IV amped charger documentation in front of me, but the V amped charger has an accessory DIN jack on the rear. You can pick up audio output(external speaker) at pins 1 and 6(gnd). It's not truly line level, just an external 4 ohm speaker output in parallel with the internal speaker. If you used the above output through a 1:1 isolation xfmr(600/600 ohm) that would likely drive your station PA with more than enough level. However, that output level would be dependent on the volume level setting on the amped charger.
If you need a truly fixed level independent of the charger's volume control, try picking it up across the charger's volume control with perhaps an isolation xfmr and series resistance across the VC.
