Not 100% true.

You'll notice on the MT/XTS 1500/2500 batteries that the contacts are in a different place, but most waris (ht750/1250/1550) batteries contain two sets of contacts. Placing a waris series battery on a MT/XTS will result in a perfectly working radio. You'll note the battery indicator however, will not work. (It may if it's a Waris impress battery, I don't have one, so I can not speak to that).

Now, Look at the 1500/2500 battery. You'll notice that the label goes all the way up to just under the bottom contacts.

Here's where you void the warranty of the battery:

Peel back the label, and you will discover a second set of contacts just under the sticker.

You can then use the battery on both the 1500/2500's and on the 750/1250/1550 series radios.

NOTE: This will probably violate any FM or IS ratings that the battery is rated for, voids your warranty, eats your french fries -you get the idea. if you do this - do it to your own equipment and consider the environment in which you use it.

hmm, thanks. that what i figured being that the waris battery has two sets of contacts. well, this radio wont be used in a grain silo or nuclear weapons manufacturing facility, so hopefully it should be okay.

i was just wondering as the original battery got squashed by a car, or atleast thats the info i recieved by the seller, and i figured i could pop my nice new waris slim pack onto it.

thanks for all the info!
