Repeater Model

Hello Folks,

I need to put up a VHF repeater in a very high intermod area of the city and would like suggestions as to what model of repeater is good for this? We would like the power output to be not less than 75 watts.

Any repeater back to a few years before the MICOR model would be considered.

quantar/quantro without a doubt.
If you want plain analog then an MSR2000 will do but I prefer the quantar package

I don't know, that's like recommending a Porsche when all they need is a Volkswagen. An MTR2000 is another alternative, although it's got a $4,000+ pricetag. Even an R1225 could probably get the job done..

MSF 5000 and a good band pass/band reject duplexer (6 cans) should do.

Kenwood TKR-750 and an outboard Crescend power amp.

Remember it is a tight intermod area.
The R1225 suffers poor rx when colocatet.
The kenwood is not much better.
The MSF5000 is good but outdated whilst the MSR is ok but what do you want in the future?

MTR2000s work just fine in RF dense areas (Mt Wilson, for example) with a solid isolater and proper combiner access

and they cost what, 15% of that of a quantar?
