MT2000 with wrong VCO crossovers....RX/TX.

Post by AEC »

I am in dire need of the proper VCO crossover frequencies for an MT2000 UHF, H01SDH9AA7AN.

Firmware: R02.13

MDC-1200 capable

450-512 Mhz.

RF board: NUE7268B

Controller board: NCN6147A

Yes, this is an Ace. P radio folks.....All the way from Waco, GA.

Well, to make a short story shorter, this is the first time I have had a need to program this radio, and it's been sitting idle since I received it.

Nevertheless, once I attempted to progam it, the FAIL 001 showed up!

I never entered the service menu...WTF?

So I did enter the service menu, and the VCO crossovers for both transmit and receive were waaaayyy out of whack!

I know for certain there are NO crossovers in the 448/468 range for THIS split radio, hence the FAIL 001 error.

This is why I would appreciate someone with a more recent service manual that does have the above listed RF/controller boards, as well as their corresponding VCO crossover frequencies, so I can enter the proper values and get out of the error message on the display.

My service manual only has values for 800/900 and VHF models and the 'R' split models only....Not a single value for 'S' split UHF radios.

ANY help in this matter is HIGHLY appreciated!

Thank you very much in advance!!!!!!!!!

Here's what I have to work with, for the 'S' split radio.

Manual FMR-1799A-1, which covers a 450-520 split board, but does NOT cover my RF board number.

RF PA: 85Y11

RF board number: 4421J44, revision 'T'

The crossover frequency listed for use is 495.375.

But since my RF board is a different number, the second 'choice' for use is 486.025.

Okay, since the manual states 'any' 4221J series board will work, aside from the J01 through J06/36, I should be good to go with the 495.375 frequency, which I'll use.

I just had to dig a little more to find the answer.
