MTS2000 UHF Programming Problem

Post by tkaheiki3 »

I have a MTS2000 UHF 48ch.
I am trying to program using the MTSX RSS R06.00.00. Dos Version

When I attempt to read the radio, I get this message...

>BUS DATA COLLISION ON TX ERROR<
(sorry for the caps, just showing what the screen said)

Please let me know what is causing this problem.

Thanks,

TK

You probably have an RSS version problem, especially if the radio was last programmed with a later version than the one you are using.

You can also look at the programming pads on the side of the radio and check for dirt or other debris that may be on the pins as well as the programmer.

What speed is your PC running at by the way?

I would assume you have the proper COM port selected by your comment or you would not get that error message.

Another cause can be a corrupt codeplug.
Try a similar codeplug that is known to be good, but matches the radio's firmware and option level as well.

The firmware is not as important as the options already loaded/programmed though...IMHO.

But ALWAYS check all batteries to make sure they have adequate charges before attempting to program a radio.

What radios do you own?: M1225, HT100, P1225, etc

What would be an ideal machine to program his radio?

I would think the same as one that could program an HT1000... Does anyone know for sure?
In God we trust. Everyone else, we run through NCIC, Thinkstream, and III.

Unfortunately, there are so many variations with computers, OS and memory, Etc...It's difficult to pinpoint what is the 'best' for what application.

Some have troubles using the dos prompt in Win 98SE, while I get it to work fine.

Others also have IRQ interference with IR ports and such, as I had until I located that trouble, then all was gold.

Processor speed, bus speeds, memory, COM ports, internal configurations abound to confuse as well as amaze.

I suppose the best method will always be TRY AND SEE, if no joy, try a different approach, something is bound to work best for you.
