Dashmount spectra PA protection diode value?

Post by philn »

Bought a D45ZXA5JE7AK Spectra that had the protection diode blown. Bought as is and was dead upon arrival. Found that the radio does power up w/o the diode and seems to be fine but I'd like to replace it. Anyone know the specs. of that diode? I have no /\/\ books for reference. Thanks for your help!

They are just a high current diode capable of 20 amps at 50 volts reverse.
Simmular to MR750G ( ON Semiconductor)
Some newer radios use a high current silicon avalanche diode, 18 volts breakdown, 20 amps forward current rating.

Ok, thanks. I'll try to find one and put it back in just for grins.
