XTS5000 M2 radio lock
Can the radio lock feature be programed in the XTS 5000 M2? I don't seem to be able to find it in the CPS. By lock I mean the power on password lock.
Well if you mean "Lock" as in when you power it up you need a password before you can use the radio, then no, since it's a Mod 2 and you have no way to type a password like you can with a Mod 3.
If you want to lock the keypad functions, then yes. Go under the menu items and add "keypad lock" to the selected menu items.

If your radio has old firmware, programming it with the latest CPS will not add any new features unless you have the latest firmware to match..
CPS = Customer Programming Software, Not CPS Software.

- What radios do you own?: HT1550's, X9000's, CDM1550's
how would you plan on unlocking it?

Thanks RKG.
Mfire39 and HLA: to enter numerics on the XTS 5000 M2 (obviously there is no numeric keypad) you use the 4 way arrow thingy to scroll up/down thru digits - like when you want to set the time and date on the clock.
I guess what I was really asking is since the lock function is not a Flash option and I can’t find it in the CPS then I guess it’s not supported on the M2.

Yes, it is not supported my a Model 2. You are correct in the fact that radio lock is not a flash option. It's just a model specific option to the Model 3.
