Post by motorola-radio »

What is the mean of the "Table Top Station" ?
At the MOTOROLA Radio model numbering scheme, it show "L"at the first of the model numbering.
What is the different between "Mobile " and "Table Top Station" ?

Thanks !

A table top station is a trunk-mounted mobile radio encased in a desk unit that contains the 120 VAC power supply, a base mic, and possibly DC or tone remote termination equipment.

The more traditional base is a cabinet mount arrangement, where transmitter and receiver are installed in a freestanding 19" rack mount, along with the power supply, remote control equipment, etc. This is most frequently used at a remote tower site where the base is connected to a telephone line or UHF link and controlled from another location.
