Help with newly purchased Ht1550

Post by sheonb »

Hi Everyone,
I just purchased an HT1550 had a few questions. I tried searching but didn't find the answers I was looking for. Please help!

1.)What CPS would I use to program this radio?

2.)What kind of computer would I need to program the radio (can I use my new intel centrino duo core or would that turn my ht1550 into a brick)? Would the ribless cables on e-bay suffice?

3.)If I decided to purchase the CPS for personal use, what are my chances living in NYC that Motorola will grant me the software?

4.) How much would the CPS cost?

Thanks!

1 - You need Professional Series CPS, part# HVN9025

2 - It's Windows based...computer speed is irrelevant. It's not a 15 year old DOS based software.

3 - You won't know until you try, but sadly likely slim to none.

4 - I think the American price is around $275.

What radios do you own?: CDM 1550's UHF/VHF HT1550'S

congrats on the new radio!
i just bought 3 of them i love them they are just what i needed. the XTS'S are a bit much for me so i figured that these would do just fine. i also just received from moto the ribless cables(one for my HT 1550'S AND ONE FOR MY CDM'S) I'm scared of anything on ebay if it does not say motorola or is not genuine. The part number for the cable is RKN4075 i think the cable ran me about $140. If you can get a couple of buddies and split the cost.
I'm in NY too... and Moto gave me their software(licensed naturally) for about $240 it was a pain in the rear but i got it. it's worth it.
