Trunking for MTX838

Post by robbip »

I am trying to programme an MTX 838 with the GRN trunking fo this State in Australia
I can enter all the talk groups and main sites with no worries but when I try to enter the tx rx fields f4-f4-f4 f6 and I use 412- 418 as my main rx split I get a message to say the failsoft doesnt alow this also I am using Tx of 476Mhz with the same result
I have pragramed 2 other 838's with these splits they are top view this the B7 type and had good reults
Could it be the codeplug or somethig else internally
I travell the lenght and width of Australia for my work carrying everything I wear and eat on my back so please dont tell me to get a scanner as this would only weigh me down more and I had enough of that in an Asian country in the early 70's

Get a scanner. This really isn't a game - messing about with critical public safety radio systems is serious business.

From your post, you probably have a radio in the wrong band split for your needs.

You could post the model number, that would help to identify one aspect of your troubles if the model number states one band split that differs from your target splits...

Something to consider...........

Yup... I'm with Syntrx. You're trying to configure a transmit-capable radio on a public safety system. I don't profess to know the laws of Australia, but I suspect they don't like unauthorized users on their system.

A scanner (like the Uniden BCD396T) would be lighter and smaller than an MTX838 and wouldn't get you into trouble. It would also not be capable of disrupting the system.
