Hello All,
I'm kinda stumped over an issue with a new HT-1250 that I just bought for my workplace. I'm still kinda green at the waris line, so I'm not sure if this is just a characteristic of the radio or if there is a programming problem.
Here's the issue... When recieving a transmission on the radio, usually half of the sentence is chopped as if there is a slight delay in the receiver. If I sit an HT-1000 next to the 1250 and start talking with a third radio, the 1000 receives the whole transmission and the 1250 receives only 3/4. Is this a sensitivity issue or programming? This occurs when the radio is not on scan, as well as with simplex communications. I've also noticed this with a CM300 we have.
Any ideas ???
Thanks,

Check your DOS settings in the CPS. It's designed to mute the receiver for a pre-set amount of time. That way, you don't have to listen to annoying stuff like MDC ID's and the like. If your DOS is way out of whack, it could cause the "chopping" of each transmission the 1250 receives.

The Waris series, if programmed correctly, which is key, will operate great for you. My personal opinion is that I think you need to change the mute/unmute rule for the personality in question. These rules do change the way the radio acts. Also there could actually be a problem with the radios, ask the place you bought them from to check them out for you. When the Waris series radios are setup properly they are very comparable the the jedi series.
Also ensure that you are using the correct antenna, and that you have more recent firmware. There are still 1250's floating around with old firmware that caused a desense issue. Verison 3 or thereabouts comes to mind.
