TX Tone?

Post by nickvann »

I have some HT1250's. Some I have used had an alert tone that would sound when you pressed the TX button. It wasn't a single tone, more like a "ring"... This would only be heard on the transmitting radio, not the receiving. Can anyone tell me what this was, or how to enable it again. It was handy, because it would let people know there were transmitting, even if by accident.
THanks

i would wager those were HT1250-LS radios on an LTR system, the sound you heard would have been a talk permit tone.

No, unless you have MDC1200 pre ID, with sidetone enabled. It won't be the same chirping sound though, it'll be a solid beep.
