GM300 PA Module

Post by johnny1225 »

Need a P.A. Module for a GM300 VHF 10-25 Watt Mobile. Tried to get it from Motorola but they say that it is obsolete. Does anyone have any other sub number from a other radio's that will able to go into a GM300 so i can restore power.

I believe the only currently available model that's even close would be a GR1225 PA, and those are only 1-10W or 25-50W, no 10-25W.

Your best bet would probably be to find a used GM300 with a good PA, or try to repair the one you have (if it's not physically damaged beyond help).
For what you'd pay for a new PA you could most likely get a whole working radio used.

I think that Maxtrac's PA is the same with GM300's.
Mechanicaly speaking there's a 100% fit.
I can't remember if they share the same pwr/ctrl connector.
If you have a Maxtrac handy, try a look.

Paul is correct, the Maxtrac PA is much the same but does not have the tempature foldback circuit. GM300 has 6 pin connector, Maxtrac 5 pins...
