Speaker Output

Post by Luke »

Is there a way to increase the speaker output on an HT1550 XLS? I noticed that when I have the volume 3/4 to all the way up, the volume is considerably lower compared to other radio's I own. Is there a way to adjust the speaker output in the programming of the radio?

I'm not 100% sure about the Waris series radios, but I think you should be able to. It would be under the "service" section of the RSS, and should be labeled as "max. volume", or something similiar.

Is there a limit on how high I should go if there is a setting? I don't want to damage the radio or the speaker.

The global tuner software has, under the receive alignment section, a window that will let you adjust rx audio level for rated audio output. However, to use it properly you need to use the required test equipment, i.e. RLN4460C test box to provide the proper load, signal generator or comms analyzer so you can get a known deviation on the RF you inject into the HT, etc.
