MTS2000 Scan Question

Post by ayaresr »

If I program my MTS2000 for user programmed scan list, can I select both trunked and conventional channels when programming the scan list?

Also, can I select channels from multiple banks? In other words, could I use the ABC switch to toggle between the banks to select a couple channels from bank A, and a few from bank B and C? Would the scan list be cleared each time I change the ABC position, or will it allow me to do this?

1. Yes, provided that the user programmable scan list is defined as "talkgroup" (vs. "priority scan", which is limited to trunked TGs from the same trunked "system", and "conventional", which is limited to conventional channels). However, for reasons that have been expounded at length in prior posts, the "talkgroup" scan list type will almost always produce unsatisfactory results.

2. Yes.

I have played around with this a little more, and have another question.
Is is possible to scan more than the 10 channels/talkgroups that are in scan list 1 at any one time? When I program the scan list as operator selected, I can't add more than any 10 channels without taking something else out before hand.

Maybe I'm mistaken but in Conventional Scan Lists, the MTS2000 can do 15 ch. per list ... I think Trunked Scan Lists are limited to 10 TG's per list... Not 100% though.
