Need help id'ing a cable

Post by K4RUR »

Hi,
I picked up a cable at the Whorefest in Orlando over the weekend and I need some help with an id on it. It is model number TKN8517A. It has a full pinned saber connector on one end and a 5-pin looks like press on connector on the other. I haven't had a chance to pin it out with my meter yet. It was only 5 bucks and I bought it for the saber connector, but am curious as to what it is for.

Thanks gang,
Lowry K4RUR

AccessPoint returns it as: CBL SABER/SYS SABER/SIB:

Judging by its book-only price status, it's almost certainly a programming cable.

Go Google the part number, and you'll see it referred to as a Saber to SIB cable, in connection with orders for Fascinator-equipped Sabers. I suspect based on that and based on the TKN-series part number, that it's a Fascinator keyfill cable. Good for the Saber connector... not for much else since you don't have the other widgets (if you do, I'd suggest returning them, quickly).

That the bad part, the connector on the keyfill end is a nice connector, hate to sacrifice it, but if it's worthless, a chopping I will go. I bought it because the Saber end has all the contacts populated and it was only 5 bucks. Looks like a perfect candidate for an Astro Saber programming cable!

Thanks again guys,
