16 pin accessory plug - hints on fitting "pins"

Post by g8tzl2004 »

I am about to wire up an accessory connector for my GTX mobile.

Is there an "official" way round to insert the "pins" into the "empty" accessory connector?

The "pins" do not look exactly "square" so maybe you need to insert them a particular way eg does the small tab on the pin go on the bottom , top or side?

Thanks

Its hard to see but there is a "stop" on the "bottom" side of the accessory plug against which the "tab" on the pin rests (to stop it coming out!!) - I used a small "traditional" pin to feel for it!!!

You could also use a small "traditional" pin to push the tab in to remove the "accessory pin" from the accessory plug :)

I had the accessory plug the wrong way round!!! It fits into the radio with the "long flat plate" at the top

The "stop" for the pin tab is therefore at the "top" NOT bottom of the accessory plug hole!!
