m110 programming HELP

Hi All
I have added channel on my m110 as only one channel was programmed but if I program it same as channel 1 it works ok, If I program channel 2 with different frequencies than channel 1 it goes beep beep beep and carries on beeping,
If i put same frequency for receive on channel 2 as channel 1 (but it lets me put different frequency for transmit) it works ok do you know if its me doing something wrong?
the frequencies are within the radio's limits

from memory is there not a steering line on the VCO that should be as close to 5 volts on both channels as possible.

I remember the MC Micro and whilst it could do 432 to 470 it couldnt deal with ch 1 on 432 and 2 on 470.

basicly your synth is out of lock. Open it up and adjust the cap

McMicro is 3Mhz wide, M110 is 10Mhz wide. This means that all channels have to be within the 3Mhz or 10Mhz. If it's more, the VCO won't lock.

I wonder if you guys can give me some idea of what PC you are using for the programming? I have the genuine Motorola RIB and software which I last used about 8-years ago on an old 286 laptop which I no longer have. I have tried several PC's the oldest one being a 486DX66 and cannot get the software to run (in DOS mode of course).

Any help greatly appreciated.

I'm using a Toshiba Pentium 1~233Mhz laptop, switch cache off, en set speed to slow. That way i can programm the whole Motorola range.

Since the post, I may have found the problem. On removing the radio's cover, there is an additional PCB held to the control board with sticky-tabs and fly leads to the head-unit connector. I think this board is interfering with the normal programming.

As was pointed out to me it was voltage needed setting on vco,
I am using a toshiba p75 and a 386 laptop
