Commport

Post by deputy_10_80 »

I am looking at buying a Commport from an online seller. He says that the commport is compatible with the Waris series radios. I have an MTS2000. I also have the audio adapter. Does anyone know if this commport will work on the MTS2000 with my audio adapter or is there really a difference with the commport for Waris Vs. Jedi series radios?

What radios do you own?: HT1550's, X9000's, CDM1550's

if you are talking about the audio adaptors that go on the accessorie port on the sides of the radio they are totally different and not compatable.

these are questions you should be asking the online seller, and if he's unable to answer them then maybe you should reconsider your source

Sorry, let me clarify my question. Basically i am asking is if all commports are the same and the only thing that differentiates whether they work on a Jedi or a Waris radio is the radio adapter. So basically if you buy a commport for a Waris series radio and buy a commport for a Jedi series radio, is the commport the same just the audio adapter different?

i'm still not shure what you mean by commport? if you break it down it should mean communication port? what exactly are you looking for, a programming cable or speaker mic/headset adaptor or what? what are you trying to do with this? i have a feeling you are looking for something but don't know what to ask for? but my answer is still the same, the waris radios and the jedi radios are two totally different animals.

No, the Commport is a high-end speaker/microphone system

I may be off a bit, but the audio/mic systems are the same (I think), its just the physical adaptor to the radio that is different.

I could be off, but I don't have a catalog in front of me at the moment.

PJ is correct.

There's a "junction" box which has a box-->radio connection cable. You can just order a Jedi version of that cable.
