Saber 3 in Radio LOCK

Post by Sky King »

Anyone know of a way to unlock a Saber 3 nonencryped from "Radio Lock"? Display just says LOCKED everytime you power it up. I've been unable to read or write to it either. Any help would be appreciated.

It belongs to the company I work for, a very large multi state enterprise and I'd love to ask the prior owner, but have no idea who he might be amongst 3000 plus employees. We have it in our Radio shop at present, trying to get it usable again. We use lots of other Motorola models, but as far as I know this is the only Saber 3 we have ever bought.

Thanks,

Bob

Locked Saber

Post by txshooter »

Even a locked Saber can be read and written to with the correct RSS. What is the model number of the radio you have?

When you stated I should be able to read and write even though locked, I went back to the bench. I tried another radio, and it wouldn't read either, tied another computer, slower 486 and it worked fine. I have now unlocked it.

Someone else posted to check with prior programmer, don't know who that was either, but yes I save personalities for future problem solving also.

Thanks to all, really apprecieate the help, I'll try and watch the board more in hopes of giving some help on models I'm more familiar with.

Thanks again.
