Motorola says software is obsolete. Where can I get a copy legally?

i thought this software was free from motorola on their website? i don't know how touchy this subject is on software if motorola offers it to download free?

Advisor II software is. I'm talking about the original Advisor...

Dave-

Unfortunately, you aren't alone. Motorola has cancelled many of the older software packages (Maxtrac, etc.), not just pagers.

At this point, there isn't a way to get such software legally. You might try giving the pagers group a call (since they're different from LMPS, and a bit more liberal about software, seeing as you can download the new stuff for free) and see if they can help you out.

We hope that Motorola decides to post a page somewhere that allows download of all these old, obsolete pieces of software, to help out hams, volunteer FFs, etc. who are still using old gear and can't afford to upgrade.

Does the pager need to be put into "programming mode" before it can be read?
