MTS-2000 top display question

Post by bad aim »

I found a MTS-2000 for a really good price. However, pictures of it appears that it dosen't have a top display. Are all MTS-2000s top-display equipped?

It is this auction:

Thanks!

No, not neccessarily.

Model I: top display 6 character 48 modes
Model II & III front display, 14 character 160/255 modes.

Ah, thanks for the help! So IIs and IIIs don't have top displays? Thanks for the info!

Also, in the auction listed, do you see any potential problems that an inexperienced user may be tricked by?

Thanks!

What radios do you own?: XTS5000R, Astro Saber III, I

The MTS A4's have a top display (no keypad on the front ot radio)
The A5's have a display on the front of the radio but a limited kaypad, and the radios you bought, are the A7 model. They have the full DTMF keypad plus the 14 character alpa display. Looks like the raidos in the auction says "out of range" or something to that effect on both displays. Judging from the antenna height I'm gonna say they are 800MHZ radios.

Hope that helps.

Model# indicated would make them UHF 403-470 and damn that was a good deal if you were the winning bidder. The 2 convertacoms look like they might be new. The 'out of range' would likely indicate they were programmed to a trunking system and the gov't. does use 400 Mhz trunking so all the odds and ends in this auction add up to me.

Ahhh, that would've helped if I saw the model number on the auction page when I read it (duh me lol)

Thanks for the info! Drats, let another great deal slip by.

Well, at least it's comforting to see that such deals exist. :D
