I am looking for some help, I have a Spectra VHF A4 and am looking to connect it to a UHF 16pin Maxtrax as a crossband repeater. I have seen where people have linked two maxtracs. Has anyone else tryed this?

crossband spectra
I am tring to do more or less the same except I am tring to connect a 900 mhz spectra to a icom 207 vhf/uhf radio so I can used my 900 radio as an extender for my long rang comms maybe we can work together on this.

900 spectra crossband repeater
the biggest problem you are going to have is getting the spectra to key the transmitter in the maxtac when the a signal is heard on the spectras
receiver that is the current problem I am having. The spectra has what is called raw detected audio that is the audio just off the detector through a buffer to a option connector on the back of the transcever from here I need to construct a pl code and squelch detector curcuit this would give me a cor output to act as key output for the 207H. I am still looking for a curcuit to do this that is my current problem.

pac -rt spectra
there is no audio in the control head that I know of. The raw detected audio is on the accessory connector on the back of the spectra. It occured to me for my use all i needed was a pl tone detector that could key the other transmitter the raw audio could be fed to the mic input on the other radio
I found a tone board here

On the audio board look at Audio PA IC (TDA 7256) pin 10. This is the audio enable, turns the audio amp on and off based on the recept of a signal and follows your PL/Signalling unmute rules.
This pin goes low for received signal to enable the audio PA. I wouldn't recommend using that to key a radio, but it would be suitable to close a low current relay that would key a radio, or a PNP transistor.
The only real problem is that any audio (vol. up/down & key press tones) will enable the audio PA.

spectra pac-rt
you could make it not transmit the beeps from the control by anding that signal with the busy indicator so you would have to break sql and have audio also
