A volunteer group is attempting to fix a Micor based VHF paging transmitter that was zapped by nearby lightning strike, wiping out, as I understand it, the proprietary microprocessor controller and its firmware.
The transmitter is said to be a C73JZB1106A with a T5325A "Motorola Advanced Control Retrofit Unit" that evidently needs to be removed in an orderly fashion. The Micor is also said to be connected to a "PURC 5000" controller.
I understand the appropriate manuals MAY be 68P81013E65 and 68P81060E70-B, but this has not been confirmed.
Earlier today (1 March 2007) I contacted Motorola parts to determine if the manuals or copies were still available. While the equipment part and model numbers and documentation part numbers appeared valid, they are also all listed as 'no longer available' and 'obsolete'.
Am posting this here in hopes that someone around the Batlabs Batboard has some documentation for this series that we could utilize under some agreement to get this transmitter used for severe weather notification distribution back up and running.
Thanks in advance. John...
