Good Price for repairs

Post by Hardwire001 »

I am looking at becoming a Vendor for batlabs members, and I would like some input on what a good price woudl be for labor on radio repairs...

I know what I charge my customers in the Detroit market and they dont complain much, but members need to get a deal, so I am tring to get them a fair deal.

Normaly for Portiables (HT'S) I charge time and materials (90.00 plus parts) and Mobiles (105.00 plus parts) :o

I am thinking that 65.00 for HT's and 75.00 for Mobiles, parts and shipping extra.. 8)
These are prices for analog radios... MOTOROLA LAND MOBILE...
Thanks in advance for all input...

Since you asked...

Our local dealer is $42.50 flat rate labor for mobiles & portables, $90 for repeaters. Parts are charged at retail. They do outstanding work too.

So is this something that you are doing, or your company?

Are you authorized by your employer to do this?

Just wondering if there would be fallout if people sent a radio to say....Jim, and gets a bill from XYZ Radio Repair kind of thing.

I have the blessing of my general manager of my branch to make this offer, I am trying to get a price matrix setup for some of our special customers, ( Education K-12, child care and others where they need com's but do not have the money to support it correctly), and I am going to include member of this board in that price matrix. I have gotten great information/support from this community, but I feel I have not been able to give back to it in kind and I want to, at a fair price.

If the same energy was spent on the local customers you drive by everyday, you would be busy enough to not want any more business. Work smarter...not harder. Checked the back of MRT's classified ads of companies doing this same thing??? What a grind!

If you do good work, you will have plenty of local customers glad to pay your rate. If not, you are already on the road to extinction.
