I have several GTX handhelds that need new keypads (numbers worn off).
Is it easy?
Part number?
I searched and the GP600 keypad works??
Thanks!
GTX HT keypad replacement, easy? part number?

I don't have the numbers available at this time, but swap-out of the keypad is simple.
Just remove the radio from the case, disconnect the ribbon flex, speaker/mic ribbon, then remove the metal shield from the kaypad/memory display board by prying our the tabs, slip in a new keypad and.....VOILA! fresh digits.
The only snafu with the GTX is the display must be positioned properly before insertion into the case, or you end up with a slanted display, or a cracked one at the worst.
The light diffuser is also touchy as it 'loves' to slide around and move when you least need it to.
To make it a little easier to remove the shield on the keypad/memory/display.....spread the case near the center of the shield area and use a tiny needle or some other small diameter 'device' to aid in separating the case from the shield, then angle up and out and you should be good to go.
I know this sounds as convoluted a reply as you can get, but it should aid in easy board/keypad removal & replacement.
